``All Muslims are not Terrorists, But all Terrorists are Muslims''

A media group owner has said something interesting. ``All Muslims are not terrorists. But all terrorists are Muslims. I don’t see why we should be afraid of accepting such facts’’.

The high profile entrepreneur and journalist made the statement at a music performance in Hubli. What is even more interesting is that there were some Muslims among the guests and performers!

I thought I would add here, some facts that such people may not be afraid to accept.

  1. Intelligence agencies of India, USA, UK, and other countries have identified nearly 125 global terror outfits.
  2. Half of these have Christian cadres. The motto of some such organizations is to convert the world into ``The Promised Land’’.
  3. A third of these have Muslim cadres. Some say they are fighting a Holy War. Some media organizations call them Islamic terror outfits.
  4. At least 10 % of those listed are fighting for rights of tribes.
  5. There are at least 10 agencies on the list that have non –tribal Hindus as cadres.
  6. The list also includes agencies populated by people of other religions like Buddhism and Judaism.

Now I want to put you through a small quiz.

  1. Who killed M K Gandhi?
  2. Who killed Solomon Bandaranaike former PM of Sri Lanka?
  3. Who killed Premadasa, former president of the same country?
  4. Who killed millions of innocents in Ireland for over seven centuries?
  5. Who killed thousands in a blood war over four decades in the Kingdom of Nepal?
  6. When Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia, nearly two million people were killed. What was the religion followed by senior Khmer Roughe leaders?
  7. Who killed Indira Gandhi?
  8. Who killed Rajiv Gandhi?
  9. Who gas bombed trains in Japan in 1995?
  10. What is Lehi?

 Here are the answers.

  1. India’s most famous assassin was Nathuram Ghodse was a Hindu Brahmin.
  2. Bandaranaike was assassinated by Talduwe Somarama, a Buddhist monk, in 1959. His wife Sirimavo Bandaranaike would take over as the world’s first woman PM.
  3. LTTE, which mostly consists of Tamil speaking Hindus
  4. Irish Republican Army is a Christian organisation
  5. The Nepal Maoists are Hindus
  6. Some prominent Khmer Rouge leaders were devout Buddhists.
  7.  Khalistan activists who were Sikhs
  8. LTTE again.
  9. Members of the Aum Shinrikyo, a new religion influenced by Buddhism and Christianity.
  10. Lehi or ``Fighters for the Freedom of Israel", was a terrorist organization that was given general amnesty and merged into the Israel army. Yitzhak Rabin, a former Israel PM was a legendary Lehi member.

When most of Indian Media Houses are moving towards monetary & communal benefits, there are still some journalists like you who can put forth the truth however bitter it is...

Dear Arif,
Thanks for reading. Let us keep hoping for better days!
Dear Padhy,
Thanks for dropping by. The problem is that I dont get angry on chaps who make such comments. I pity their ignorance. That is why I was discreet when adding facts to my story.
Dear Hithayath,
Thanks for your wishes. Facts are out there. One needs the courage to accept them. I also feel prejudice takes little time to settle than wisdom. Watch my next post for a Meera Bhajan. ``The King sent a cup of poison. Meera drank it and smiled''...

Dear Rishi,
I've been having heated dialogues with several people on the same issue. I've blogged about this... please do check out these links. One of my friends is a scholar on Islamic studies at Amsterdam University -- his explanations of the problem was a revelation to me!

Dear Rishi,

I was looking for information on the same, but could not seem to find the any. Thank you for putting it up here.

I do not agree with quote "All Muslims...."
But at the same time we need to look at what is causing this. In my opinion, It is unfortunately the MEDIA who is to blame. We have create this image in our head of a Muslim person blowing himself up in the name of religion. Why is this? Turn on any news channel, open Google news, read the newspaper. You will always find a Muslim name associated with Terror.
If a Hindu/Buddhist/Christian extremist does something similar, there seems to be very little coverage. But, in my opinion if a Muslim person or a Muslim state were to do something on similar lines, the story would run a course more than it deserved.

We need to condemn TERRORISM, not Muslims, or for that matter any religion.
The world needs a villain to hate, let that villain be TERRORISM.

Godspeed,

Haha! May be you should send proof of identity to the person who thinks you are a Moslem (what an anglicised spelling!). How easily we assume anyone who speaks of non-Islamic forms of terrorism has to be a Muslim himself!

Dear Rishi and Mukesh

Your post here might sound good as word against word and sentence against sentance. But when it comes to argument against argument, I think that your argument has an element of ignorance vis-a-vis denial. Which you want the readers here to silently or willingly or ignorantly overlook..........continued to here

Dear Rishi,

I am sure, you have taken lots of pain to list of nonislamic terrorist in action in the world, if you relook your own list, you will find that none of these incidents have larger impacts on world & hatred behind crime aws limited to region ,country, & had no universal applicability, but today islamic terror is distroying world peace, no religion teaches to hate other religion, but i am sure kafir is not word from hinu dictionary, today in madarsas in many countries it is known fact that how to kill & distroy is basic course,
i will share few thoughts with you
1) what do students in pakistan?
BE:-- Bomb Engineering ?
MBBS:--Member of bomb blasting society.
IIT:--islamic institute of terriosim.
CAT:--career in al-queda & taliban
M-tech: Master in terror technology.
LLB:--Learning licence of bomb blasting.
B.sc:- bio weapon science.
These are my imaginary word, but you know they are facts
as per me todays terror is socio economic problem. modern education only will bring them out of their own dream world, they have no right to thnk that they understand ALLAH better, even he will not excuse them for all these acts against humanity. out of furstration you cannot do kranti.your blog space may not be enogh to express my views,i dont blame all. but all must be blamed for following blindly few, with very few exceptions, speaking & implimention are two different things, one must not shy away from facts, dont cover your weakpoints religiosly, to show you are only correct & all world is fool.

Hello Rishikesh
I think you have left out the biggest killer of all here: The government of the United States of America. It is a secular country... incidentally Christian. According to Noam Chomsky presidents of the US for the last 50 years are eligible for trial in the World Court for war crimes.
